Privacy Policy
Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains how Clause collects, uses, and protects your information.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly: your name, email address, and the answers you enter in the Agreement Builder (including financial information, asset details, and preferences). We also collect account information when you register, and usage data such as pages visited and features used.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to: generate your prenuptial agreement document; provide customer support; send transactional emails (e.g., account confirmation, document ready); improve the Service; and comply with legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
3. Financial and Legal Information
Information entered in the financial disclosure and Agreement Builder sections — including asset values, income, and debt — is used solely to generate your prenuptial agreement. This information is encrypted in transit and at rest. We treat this information with the highest level of confidentiality.
4. Information Sharing
We may share your information with: (a) service providers who help us operate the Service (e.g., Stripe for payments, Supabase for database, Clerk for authentication), all bound by confidentiality obligations; (b) attorneys you choose to engage through the platform, with your consent; (c) law enforcement or government authorities when required by law.
5. Data Retention
We retain your account and document data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us at hello@clauselegal.com.
6. Cookies and Tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and analyze usage of the Service. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but some features of the Service may not function correctly as a result.
7. Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS), encryption at rest, and access controls. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.
8. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that a child has provided personal information, we will delete it promptly.
9. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data; object to or restrict processing; and data portability. To exercise these rights, contact us at hello@clauselegal.com. We will respond within 30 days.
10. California Residents (CCPA)
California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete personal information, and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information. To submit a request, contact hello@clauselegal.com.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
